I could say so much in praise of Leila that it would be its own blog...instead let me just mention two of the huge style moves Leila executed in my mothering world:
1. She purchased my first Petunia Picklebottom diaper bag - long before anyone had ever heard of this brand...When first-time motherhood left me feeling exhausted, frumpy, and without clothes that fit - I had a bag that got me stopped in stores. And anyone who has given birth can really understand what a spiritual experience that can be.
2. She designed Olivia's nursery. And then she came in and with the rest of my college roommates, painted, sewed, assembled and presented me with the most amazing gift . I wasn't blogging many words back then or this event would have induced quite the sappy post. Suffice to say I felt greatly loved and incredibly undeserving. Sophia never had a baby room. She had a pack n' play in our one bedroom apartment. Foo got the gift of the sweetest "nest" one could dream up - and Leila dreamed it up and made it happen in her spare time...Imagine if she had her own HGTV show?
