I thought I had good instincts about not joining this craziness, ...Daniel be warned, technology is not always our friend...Read below:

Is Blogspot next? Are my pictures going to be saved in some indestructible cyberspace archive to be used against me at a later time? Is this MacBook going to come alive and stage an attack?Creepy.

Jessie!

Jessie is an inspirational figure in my life. She warns me when my jeans are heading in the Mom direction and invigorates me with tales of high school drama...She also LOVES my girls and brings such celebration when she comes through our door. Tonight, was especially momentous as Jessie drove for the first time by herself  - to my house. That's huge, that's an amazing honor. We all remember where we drove the first time we could. And she will always think of my house. Well, I tell myself that...Her life is very exciting, this may not be that big of a deal to her...

Johnny Jump Up

Two Years Ago, Sophia in the Johnny Jump Up.
Yesterday, Sophia has graduated to pushing....

Sophia - growing tired of the phrase "You're too big." But check out Olivia's face.

Olivia got her first ride in the Johnny Jump up. Sophia pushed -  After explaining that Sophia was too big, and after Elmo rode in it for a while. Then we went and found old pictures of Sophia in the Johnny Jump up. It's true what they say, The Days are  Long. But the Years are Short.

Number Two

When I start feeling guilty that Olivia is being treated too much like a second child, I take excessive meaningless pictures of her. I want to make sure she has at least half the amount of pictures by herself as Sophia has.

My Funny Valentine

We spent Valentines Day on a ski trip with 120 middle schoolers. Olivia was amazing, slept like a rock -  worn out from the chaos.  12 years and she will be boarding charter buses holding hands with a boy half her size. Please say it isn't so...

Book Recommendation

Surrendering to Motherhood....Losing your mind, Finding your soul
Some of you may remember my Shelfari embarassment...(some of you may be still stuck in Shelfari due to my mass mailing - sorry Michael)...I had sworn off book recommendations but couldn't resist passing this one on to my blog readers - most of which are Moms or almost Moms or future Moms.  The title can be misleading -it's not about urging you  to have 18 home-schooled children (Though you do inspire us, Michelle Dugger). Krasnow, a very successful celebrity journalist, details her life's struggle with meaning and satisfaction, only to find peace and contentment when she finally surrendered to her vocation of motherhood. This is a  surprising and inspirational book for those of us who sometimes secretly miss having a reason to put on make up and eating with two hands. Affirmation that What's Out There, is never going to be worth the sacrifice, not just for our children, but for ourselves - this is an amazing, fresh perspective on feminism. I am loving it, and the ability to read again...

Compilation

"Even on the worst days, we usually managed to find something to smile over, knowing by now what every parent sooner or later figures out, that these wondrous days of early parenthood - of diapered bottoms and first teeth and incomprehensible jabber - are but a brilliant, brief flash in the vastness of an otherwise ordinary life." Sisters, Sisters....

Why are the best moments only caught on cell phone cameras?

Three Months...and lots of Steak...

Today's Shout Out goes out to Daniel and Lindsey for their very creative Christmas gift to Travis. They gave him a gift card to Omaha Steaks which allowed us to order steaks online. So on the occasion of Olivia's 3 month birthday UPS delivered 6 sirloin steaks to my doorstep. Beef Delivered. God Bless America. This will help my menu planning as well - meat is not my area of expertise. Two weeks ago I planned a steak dinner, had Travis go  out and grill them, only for him to inform me that it was actually pork. They should really label these things more explicitly.

The Wedding Guest

Olivia attended her first wedding last weekend. Our friend Pat got married in Richmond and it was a huge celebration! (We've been hearing about Pat's "wife" for about ten years now...) Olivia partied hard, then crashed hard - with a sleep in record of 11:30am. Congrats Pat and Katie!

Happy Birthday Abuelo!

I love that my Dad is called "Buelo" I feel like he's really starting to come into the title too - the birthday hat is a huge step.

She has my feet

And I would never claim my feet to be a positive attribute but she's pulling it off well. And for those still wondering WHO Sophia looks like as a baby - it's neither Nina or Travis. She looks like my cousin Elizabeth. Obviously.
